Windows xp install part 3
Step 3: Since you are most likely installing Windows over the top of an old installation, you will need to format (erase) the previous installation and all it’s data. Select the partition you want to erase (usually “C:”) by using the arrow keys, and press the Enter key. (If you have just built a new computer, you will still have to format your hard drive in to a recognized file format. NTFS is your best choice for windows XP.)
Setup will inform you that you already have Windows installed on this partition and recommend you choose another. This won’t be a problem, since we will be erasing the data first, so continue Setup by pressing the “C” key.
