Upgrading ram in your computer

Upgrading ram

RAM is one of the most important parts in our PC, performing its job as a volatile memory. It’s importance increases with the increase of our software requirements and also when we open a program of high size

If you have a RAM of 64MB and your requirements are for 128 or 256MB then you need to install more memory by upgrading ram .

The question is how to install?

Is it necessary to remove the old RAM for installing a new one?

Should the memory be of the same brand?

For answering the first question then I have to mention here that, if you have a 64MB of RAM and a wish to have 128MB of ram then don’ remove the old one, go to the market and purchase another 64MB and also, take a look at the name of the old one and look for which manufacturer it is? Find out if they are compatible either on the Internet or the manufacturer.

Times have now changed in the memory arena. Today memory normally comes as dims, in slots ranging from 256 to 1gig of ddr fast memory. Normally different memory modules is irrelevant but always check your motherboards website out for any compatibility issues. This will save you time in the long run.

After purchasing the RAM first remove the cover of your PC and find the place at which your old RAM is. If there is a spare slot next to it, simply insert the new memory module and make sure it is firmly clicked down.

Now reassemble the case and then, power on the computer. Modern computers will recognize the memory straight away and you will have an increase in performance. To check your memory amount, rich click on my computer and left click on properties. The amount of memory you have should be listed here.
