Programs dont respond

Windows programs do not respond – What can I do?

Lets have a look at why windows programs may stop responding.

Your computer and/ or your operating system/programs/drivers may stop responding because of a variety of reasons. A certain program can crash and cause the other programs to no respond.

It could be a bug in specific software or drivers, or it could be a hardware conflict.

When speaking to people over the phone, I was often asked for a quick remedy for this problem. Generally for all the windows operating systems, the user can press CTRL ALT and DEL on the keyboard; this will bring up the task manager. You will have an option to end the programs, which are currently not responding.

This should shut the programs down, and allow you to start over again, however please be aware, any work you had open, will likely be lost, and there isn’t a way round this.
