Motherboard information

The motherboard is the main and power infrastructure for the entire computer. Motherboards are actually a carryover from architecture used for years in mainframe computers.

In the motherboard there are many cards functioning. All cards are plugged into sockets on a circuit board. Every card is performing a function of its own and receiving power from the power supply, through the main socket.

Branded PC’s contained their very own motherboards with motherboard information. In 1982 the motherboard was a large circuit board containing an 8088 processor.

At that time, parallel ports or joy sticks were added with the help of separate cards inserted into the slots.

After the computer was opened for the third party vendors, they made it easy to access, and also added new features to the machine for the requirements of that time.

A motherboard is made up of a semi conductor element silicon dioxide, which was first found in the beaches of U.S.A. Copper circuit paths perform the job of carrying signals and voltages across.

These layers carry data for the input and output purposes, and for memory buses.
