Buying computers - Monitor question
Monitor question
What type of monitor does the computer come with?
When you buy a computer for the first time, you may not be aware whether you get a monitor included. I have seen some shops and online retailers give a bargain deal, however they don’t tell you whether you get a monitor.
This can add to the cost so it is important to make sure you get a computer monitor.
If the computer comes with a flat screen monitor, it will be likely that the overall cost will be higher. Make sure you get high refresh rates and high resolution, as discussed in my computer monitors guide.
Most new flat screens will be excellent in quality to be honest, but it is better to be safe than sorry, so be sure to check the specifications, and if you have any adverse thoughts, email or telephone the sales team. If you are in a computer shop, ask for a test to se the quality for your self.
I have seen some flat screens that seem to flicker and take longer than normal monitor to refresh. I have not seen this over the past year, which confirms that the quality is improving fast in flat screen monitors. They will also save you space. I would say for those of you working and surfing the Internet, try to go for a flat screen. For gamers, the CRT monitors will still give better results in my opinion.
