The printers in this section are dedicated to digital photo printer reviews. They’re not meant for normal desktop letter-type printing and some can’t even accept a standard 8 ½” x 11” sheet of paper.
Epson Stylus Photo R200 Of the many Epson printers to choose from, I selected this one to feature because it is an entry level photo printer, with a few extra frills. Like being able to print on a printable CD/DVD. This printer is selling for around $100, which is a pretty good deal considering it can print on standard size paper as well. This is an entry level photo printer though, so if you’re looking for top-notch quality, keep reading. HP Photosmart 375 Compact Photo Printer This is a premier photo printer, with a small footprint and good print quality. You’ll also get your 4” x 6” photo in about a minute. One super nice feature is this printers ability to print wirelessly with a Bluetooth ® enabled camera or PDA. You can also print directly from a memory stick or USB connection to your camera. I’m seeing this printer go for around $200, and it’s worth every penny. The image quality will be good enough for most users, but not as high as the next printer. Sony PictureStation DPP-FP30 If you’re wanting the highest quality output, and are willing to sacrifice a few ‘extras’, you might want to take a look at this printer. The image won’t get any better then this, but it doesn’t have features like printing from a memory stick. It’ll cost you about $.60 per 4” x 6” photo. If you have a PictBridge camera, you can print straight from it. This is also the easiest of the three to setup and use, partly because it doesn’t have as many of those ‘extras’. At about $150, this would be my choice.
