Cheap scanners are now very common in todays market. You can either get a scanner as part of an all in one printer, or, obtain a stand-alone scanner.
Stand-alone scanners will normally offer you a few more features and give slightly better results, however, if you purchase a quality all in one device, than this is not always the case.
Scanners are excellent, as you can scan all kinds of pictures in and re edit them, make them larger, make them smaller and so much more. One of the reasons I have a scanner is so I can scan holiday pictures in, and give families and friends other copies of them on larger photo paper. Some of the photos have even been framed from one of the scanners I use.
A cheap scanner could be a good choice for you if you already own a printer, however, if you have neither, then browse some of our reviews and guides for the all in one units.
I recommend them because I have had good results using them. They also save space and hassle by having 3 functions in 1. They offer Printing, scanning, and photocopying. Some even have fax machines. All of these devices separately could take up a lot of space and will probably end up costing you more. So, review your situation first, then you can comfortably take things from there.
