Cd rom review
The most common computer storage is the CD ROM; it is a media, which contains audio, video, software’s and computer games also.
A single CD for a computer can contain as much data as 400 floppy disks can. So it is clear that this media is much more useful than a floppy drive.
For running a CD in our computer we must have a standard CD drive in our computer which contains a tray in which we can place the CD, not like a floppy drive for which we have to push the floppy in the floppy drive.
The CD ROM works with the laser technology having a lens in it, which contains a laser. When the laser hits a layer of metallic material spread over the surface of a disk, then the data being entered from the laser, produces tiny spots on the disk surface.
The reading of the data takes place when the laser scans the disk and the lens picks up different light reflections from various spots. It consists of small machinery, which helps the laser to move if we want to read or pick data located on different places of CD. The other motor in it helps the CD to spin around.
