Byte term explained
Byte
A byte is made up of 8 bits, which I explained in the bits explanation. It is the measurement unit used to show the transfer rate of digital systems. One kilobyte equals to 1024 bytes.
To summarize, 8 bits go in to one byte, 1024bytes go in to one kilobyte, and 1024 kilobytes go in to 1 megabyte.
1000 megabytes is equal to 1 gigabyte. Downloads are measured in this way. Normally when you download a film it will be in the range of 700 – 1000 megabyte depending on the format.
