Bit term explained

BIT - Binary Digit

This term refers to a binary digit. There is only 2 numbers it can be, either a 1 or a 0. In computer terms, 8 bits make 1 byte of data. This term is expressed as data stored in a digital computer system.

If you have a 32-bit processor, then it can process 32 bits, which is 4 bytes of data every clock cycle.

BY remembering the above, bits and bytes are relatively simple to understand. Once you become familiar with downloading files, bytes of data will make more sense to you.
