Binary term explanation

Binary – Base 2

Binary has been discussed on the site, so I thought it would be worth adding it to this section.

Binary is a system used, which is used in computers and other digital devices, such as CD players.

Binary uses 2 digits, 1s and 0s, which relate to on and off using electrical impulses.

These digit numbers are widely referred to as a bit.

If you take a computer course at college or university, you will likely spend some time studying binary and performing simple calculations in this format.
