Windows ME guide

Another Windows 32 bit operating system like Windows 95 and 98. ME targets the home user offering an easier interface and an improved Graphical user interface.

It includes enhanced integrated applications such as, Internet explorer 5.5, a new windows media player.

And even a system restore function that restores deleted files. This is a pretty nifty feature to be honest.

There is an auto update on the main start bar that automatically checks Microsoft’s site for the latest security patches, as well as specific updates keeping performance running smooth.

A lot of computers still come with Windows ME and many are running it now. Although this operating system sounds impressive, my experience of it has been grim to say the least. While working in many support jobs I found there are so many glitches and bugs in ME that I cursed when I had to troubleshoot ME.

I don’t recommend ME, however some people find it excellent. I will leave you to draw your own conclusions on this one, and move on to more operating systems as part of this guide.
