Systemax Pursuit 4020 is an aggressive notebook with Intel’s latest chip, the Centrino processor. For those who have not heard of it, the Centrino processor runs on Pursuit 4020 offers 1.5GHz, improved battery life, integrated wireless and LAN supports.

Coupling with a blazing fast 256MB of DDR266 (PC2100) memory, the system is preinstalled with Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition in its massive 40GB hard drive. Not to forget the CD-RW / DVD-ROM Combo Drive that allows you to create your own audio CD, backup files and play your favorite DVD movies.

The Pursuit 4020 has a very standard integrated graphics controller, which is the Intel Extreme Graphics sharing up to 64MB of memory. However, it is able to handle most games and offers great multimedia support.

Its 15” screen is an XGA type with wide viewing angle. It also offers a generous four USB 2.0 ports for high speed data transfer to and from your PDAs, digital cameras, MP3 players and so on. While I think this baby lacks a Firewire port, which seems to be a standard feature on notebooks these days, you have no trouble adding a Firewire adapter on it. Thanks to the PC Card Type II slot on the left side of the notebook.

Systemax Pursuit 4020 is a basic notebook for students or a businessperson. It may not be the best, but as long as it is able to perform simple assignments, it’s always a worth to consider.
