Pop ups are a form of advertising that can be annoying if not dealt with. They are normally found on websites to entice the user to visit a certain product or page.
This is all very well for the general website as it offers a way for the Webmaster to keep the website offering a source of revenue for the Webmaster, however pop-ups have become nothing more than annoying. They have started to popup on millions of sites in multiple sets, and this can be confusing for the first time Internet user.
If you are experiencing pop ups and need a quick way to get rid of them, then I recommend you download and install the Google toolbar. I use the tool bar daily, and it act as an excellent pop up blocker.
It has other features built in for advanced searches and generally making your Internet life easier.
This toolbar will work on the Internet explorer browser and can be found here.
Simply download and install following the instructions. After this has been installed, the pop ups will be blocked.
For those of you with new versions of Netscape (7.1 or higher) go to tools and popup manager. This browser has a built in pop up stopper.
