Lexmark X5250 printer review

Lexmark have been introducing hundreds of printers over the past few years. It looks like they want to be the number one printer manufacture, ruling out other companies, such as HP.

While the company is making an effort to create hundreds of printers, and wipe out the competition, lets see what the X5250 all in one printer has to offer.

This printer has a unique design and like the entire all in one printers in this series, you will not need to clutter your workspace to make it fit. In other words, with all the features you get with the product, you can save a vast amount of space.

Boasting speeds of 20 pages per minute, and 14 pages for colour documents. Lets see what it can do for a 20-page document. I printed a 20 page detailed report in just under 4 minutes. Not bad at all considering the 20 pages per minute is the engine speed. So it would do around 20 pages in 1 minute with 1 splash of ink.

Remember with all printers the actual print speed will most likely not be what the specification states as it is referring to the engine speed of the printer.

Copying works well on this printer, and as you can see, the scanning resolution is a high 640 x 2400 dpi.

The ink cartridges are relatively cheap to buy, when compared to other printers, however remember, this is an inkjet printer. If you use the printer often, you will probably find you will need to change the cartridges often.

The printer copies as standalone, which is also an added benefit. Installation is easy as with all Lexmark printers. You will need to buy a USB cable, as this does not come shipped with the product.

Conclusion

Overall I would say this printer is best suited towards the user who needs three devices in the space of one unit. Best suited for students/professionals or people printing masses of black and white documents.
