HP Photosmart 230 review

HP Photosmart 230 review

This neat little printer from HP looks small, nifty, and unique in design, but does it deliver?

It looks like a small grey brick, lets hope it doesn’t operate like a brick. Designed purely for digital photography, this unit will work with or without a connection to your home computer.

The feeder tray folds from the front of the printer, where you can load glossy photo paper ready for digital quality photo prints. The controls on top of the printer allow you to set different configurations to match your needs. You can even print borderless prints, which improves quality further in my opinion.

With a USB connection and surprisingly easy to use software, I was impressed by the speed of installation. The software is excellent and allows you to organise your photos on to your computer easily.

Print speed is slow, and the print cartridges are expensive when compared to other photo printers. This printer does use a lot of ink, so you would need to watch out for this aspect.

Conclusion

One of the smallest well featured printers in the photo range, however print speeds aren’t the fastest and is relatively expensive in terms of ink replacement.
