Download – Downloading

Download is the word used when you access files from a host machine and download to your computer known as the local machine. Let me explain this further. The host machine is the computer you are downloading from, where as; the local machine is the client, which is your own computer.

The speed of the download will depend on what connection there is between the two machines and on some occasions the size of the file.

If you are downloading from someone in the same country who has a very fast Internet connection, the chances are you will get a good download speed, depending of course if you also have a good connection.

People often ask me why they don’t get a good download rates on peer-to-peer software, this is the reason as explained above. If you have a cable connection but you are downloading from a 56k connection, you are not going to get a super fast download rate.
