Directory – Folder

A directory and folder in computer terms mean exactly the same thing. The directories are the yellow folders you will see in your windows operating system. They allow you to store files within the folders for improved organisation of your work and other information.

You can name them, delete them and rename them. A long time ago, I used to do this using Microsoft DOS, now you can simply do this in the windows operating system making this so much less complex for you.

An example of how you could layout your folders could be like this. A folder named games, in this folder you could have all your favourite games. A folder called work, within here, you could store all your work related information. Starting to see a theme here?

As you can see you can organise your computer files the way you want them, much like keeping a desk tidy and organised.
