DPI term explained

DPI term explained

DPI - Dots Per Inch

Dots per inch are used mainly in the printer and scanner area of computing. Many of our reviews include this term along with our guides. It is used to show you the quality of the printer or scanner.

DPI means how many pixels per square inch the printer or scanner can print/scan.

The higher the DPI the better the resulted print or scan will be in quality.

Many printers and scanners come with easy to use software that allows you to alter this setting for improved results on your prints and scans.

If you want a better quality print, simply change the dpi to a higher resolution, however if you want to save ink and print out some thing simple, set the DPI to a lower resolution.
