Cybertron AMD Sempron 2200 Desktop PC review
The Cybertron AMD Sempron 2200+ Desktop PC is a good deal for $349.99. If you need to do everyday word processing or some other tasks that do not require lots of computer power, this is for you.
Packing the AMD Sempron 2200+ processor at around 1.5GHz and many integrated components such as audio, video, and network ports, as well as the standard serial and parallel ports. It also comes with a 40 GB hard drive that holds enough space for the casual user.
Along with the above, it comes with a keyboard, mouse, and 2-speaker set. It does not come with the monitor shown in the picture, but monitors are relatively cheap. It also comes with a standard CD-ROM drive. You will need an existing monitor, as this computer set does not come with one.
The only real flaw with this computer is the low memory size of only 128 MB. It really could use a memory upgrade before even turning it on since Windows XP Home with only 128 MB RAM is quite a bad idea. Memory is rather cheap and getting a 512 MB stick would be rather inexpensive. That is the only flaw with this system and with that out of the way you would have a great computer tower for basic computer needs. I have a guide on how I easily upgrade my memory. Check out installing memory for further information.
The Cyberton really comes down to a great computer set for the basic user that only needs a slight “face-lift” in the memory size. This is not a huge issue and should not be a real determining factor in the purchase of this because memory upgrades are cheap and easy. If you need a computer that does the basics, then this will work with a slight memory upgrade. Expect to spend about $75 extra for the 512 MB memory stick, but you will be up and running strong after the upgrade.
