Compaq Presario 2594us review
Model
Compaq Presario 2594us
Compaq produces a range of notebooks known as the Presarios that are designed especially to meet the demands of home users. Although the Presario 2594us that we are going to review is classified as a desktop replacement, it still does more than that.
Presario 2594us comes with a sleek design with the Compaq logo at the front silver metallic cover. Weighing at 7.5 lbs and measuring at 10.72” x 1.79” x 12.96” for width, height and depth respectively, it may be bulky and heavy to carry around, but it serves well as a desktop replacement. But hey, that’s what it’s called!
The notebook from one of the largest computer industry manufactures is equipped with the Intel® Celeron® 2.4 GHz processor that is mainly used in home PCs. This is decent enough to run Microsoft’s award-winning operating system, Windows XP Home Edition, when coupling with its 256MB of DDR memory.
The 15-inch SXGA screen notebook also provides a huge 30GB hard drive and a fabulous DVD/CD-RW combo drive, more than enough for data storing.
For potential expandability, make full use of its three USB 2.0 ports that connect to other devices such as digital cameras, USB flash drive and so on. You also get to connect your old printer using the parallel port provided at the rear side of the notebook, and external display via its VGA or S-Video port.
Compaq Presario 2594us is solid-built with home users’ expectation in mind. You would want to keep your ever-bulky desktop computer away by replacing it with this high performance and reliable notebook.
